Bonnie
Stetson is a Licensed Massage Therapist and has been providing Therapeutic
Massage for humans and horses in the New York Metropolitan area for 24 years.
She operates a private practice, Centaured Massage. She spent several years in
the Spa Industry, as the Treatment
Manager at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental New York, where she headed a team of 30
of New York's best therapists.
Bonnie
holds a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Vermont and
a Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Swedish Institute of Allied Health
Sciences. She is a U.S. Pony Club Graduate “A” with over 20 years
experience riding and teaching Dressage and Combined Training. She has trained
with Lockie Richards, Carol Lavell and Sally Swift.
Upon graduation from The Swedish Institute School of Allied Health Sciences,
she developed and practiced Equine Massage based on the work of Sports Massage
and Equine Massage pioneer Jack Meagher in addition to providing Therapeutic
Massage for human clients.Currently she
practices two techniques of her own design:
Natural Rest™, a therapeutic aromatherapy massage treatment for stress relief and Centaured Connection™,
an innovative bodywork program for riders and horses developed from the
extensive study of human and equine anatomy and movement and their coordination
in equestrian sport. She continues
to offer Therapeutic Massage treatments for both humans and horses. Bonnie
is a Professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, a Life Member
of the U.S. Pony Club, Inc., and a member of the Professional Agricultural
Fraternity Alpha Zeta. She volunteers with GALLOPNYC, Inc., a therapeutic
riding program. She resides in New York City and White Haven, PA with her
husband Ron, daughter Sorrel and their Labrador Molly.
